Currently, when one of our Outlook 2010 clients first attempts to connect to our Exchange Server externally using RPC over HTTPS, after the client gets autoconfigured by being on our corporate LAN, the Outlook client prompts for the user to enter their username/password to connect to the RPC over HTTPS proxy gateway on the Exchange Server. The user MUST enter their credentials as 'DOMAIN\username' in order for the Outlook client to authenticate to the Exchange Server. Is there a way to have the Outlook Anywhere proxy only require the user to enter their username and password, without having to specify the domain? Or can the Exchange Server be configured to automatically configure the Outlook client to remember the user's login/password so the user isn't required to re-enter their username/password when remote, because the Outlook client can use the cached Windows credentials by default? We are a Windows 2008 R2 native domain, with Exchange 2010 (non-SP1) and Outlook 2010 (64-bit) clients running on Windows 7 (64-bit).

You could try and go to IIS>Default Web Site> RPC> Basic Authentication>Edit>Default Domain and put in the default domain here.Sukh

Hello, Have you selected the remember password option when you manually type in the password on the login? Or you can use the NTLM authentication for both Outlook Anywhere and RPCProxy VDir. Thanks, Simon
